uTorrent For Android (Coming Soon)

As Android inches closer to desktop replacement territory with hardware like the Transformer and software like Ubuntu for Android, traditional desktop apps well suited for post-PC devices are set to evolve at a rapid pace. Photoshop is one application that has made the transition with ease.
Plenty of people rely on torrents for legitimate file sharing (not just pirating) all over the world. A complete uTorrent app for Android would likely push millions of users towards tablets and phones that can run the app.

Right now,We have uTorrent Remote for Android which only allows us to control the torrents started on our Computer by providing the operations such as play, pause, force start etc. But,we need actual uTorrent client like we have on our computer.BitTorrent has gone on the record to say there’s no ETA for uTorrent for Android.

Download Android apps (.apk) to your PC from Android Market

We always needed  handy extenstion/application/utility to download Android app APK files directly from Android Market. At-last the  developer “redphx" realized the need for this and then he created a chrome extension that does what we want.

There are a few steps that you need to complete before you are able to download Android apps directly to your PC but these are pretty easy.

We have tried it and it works, it even helps you download apps that are not available in your country like Google Currents, Google Music, and Chrome for Android.
Download any Android app from Android Market and transfer it to your tablet, phone and enjoy.

This is a boon for Kindle Fire, Nook Tablet users because they don’t have direct access to Android Market

What do you need?

  • Latest version of Chrome (on any OS – Windows, Linux, Mac)
  • Your Android Market account ID and Password ( I am using a test account to be on the safer side)
  • Your Device ID (Install this app to get it or you can follow instructions given at the download link)
  • To disable SSL error warnings on your Chrome. (Instructions given at the download link).

Download APK Downloader extension from here.

Once you have finished all the steps, all you have to do is – open Android Market and go to the required Android app page and click on APK downloader icon in address bar and that's it. your APK file will be downloaded.

Ubuntu for Android

"In every dual-core phone there is a PC trying to get out"-Canonical

The above remark is really true for the latest dual core Android smartphones ,As Ubuntu the known name in Linux distros is going to make Ubuntu for Android. That means get the ubuntu experience on your Android phone...No,Not at all.

Instead, They are ushering a new concept in mobile OS called ,dual integrated OS concept which will work on the basis device role functionality.
Whenever you use your Android Phone as a Phone it will be normal Device Android optimized for touch.
But,If you are in office and hook it up to a LED monitor or the Ubuntu device dock connected to Keyboard, mouse and monitor voila, Ubuntu sprawls up on your monitor.use ubuntu when in office and when at home your Android is enough for you.

Why carry two devices, when you could carry only one? Your next high-end smartphone has far more horsepower than you’ll need on a phone, and more than enough for a laptop

Canonical brought Android together with Ubuntu, the world’s favorite free operating system, to give us a full productivity desktop that fits in your pocket. Android for the phone experience, Ubuntu for the desktop, all on one device, running at the same time.
So forget the office PC. Just dock your corporate phone and enjoy Ubuntu. Anywhere. One address book. One set of bookmarks. One place for your text messages and email. No more typing on a tiny screen when all you want is a keyboard and a mouse. Seamless integration of your desktop and mobile worlds. Brilliant.

Features:

Secure full-featured web

Sit back and enjoy a full desktop browser for multi-tab, multi-window web productivity. Ubuntu supports both Chromium and Firefox, the world's fastest browsers, and is naturally resistant to web malware, which is why enterprises and governments are adopting Ubuntu on desktops.

Unified contacts

Both Ubuntu and Android access the same mobile address book. So even when the phone is docked, you can view, edit, call, text or email a contact. You can even check their profiles on Facebook or Twitter.

Surf on the move with the Android browser, then dock to continue your session on the desktop. You get the same web pages, the same bookmarks and the same browsing history, with all the real-estate of a desktop and chromium included Using web applications with a full keyboard and mouse is so much better than a tablet when you're at a desk, even in a hotel.

Calendar coordination

As with your contacts, your Android calendar data is shared with Ubuntu. This enables synchronisation with any desktop or web-based calendar application, like Google Calendar.

Messaging and calls

Read and reply to incoming SMS messages from the desktop, using Ubuntu's message indicator. You can also make and receive calls via the desktop - and you'll be alerted to voicemails so you can manage them while you work.

Simple integrated settings

Alarm clock settings on the phone can be synchronised to alert you when working in the Ubuntu environment. You'll have one place to enter wifi passwords and one place to pair your bluetooth headset, then everything just works.

Photos

Manage and view photos stored on your smartphone using the Ubuntu Gallery application. Then edit them on the Ubuntu desktop and save them back to the phone. Create, edit and consume, all on one device.

Social networking services

All your Android social network account credentials are synchronised seamlessly, using the Ubuntu social networking client to provide easy access to your online communities.

Default Applications included in Ubuntu for Android:
  • Chromium web browser.
  • Google Calender.
  • Google Docs.
  • VLC media Player.
  • Android Dialer.
  • Ubuntu Music Player.
  • Ubuntu Photo gallery.
  • Facebook
  • Twitter.
On an ending note this concept is good and only available for manufacturers ,Currently no end users can download and install this OS.lets wait for out manufacturers.

Images of Google Drive Leaked

Google testing new Cloud servers based storage service for its users and image of the Drive leaks out on the Internet.

Google seems to be very close to launching its cloud storage service. According to a website, the Google Drive has been quietly enabled for select users and is being privately tested.

Google is set out to compete with the Cloud servers based storage services providers such as Dropbox, Microsoft SkyDrive, Amazon's Cloud Drive and Apple iCloud.

A screenshot of the cloud storage service, mentioned in the report, shows a list of documents with an option to install the Google Drive. This could be for both desktop client and also for mobile phones. Google Drive will allow users to upload and store the documents as well as files to make them accessible from anywhere on any device with Internet connectivity.

Apparently, even the favicon and the logo of the Google Drive has been circulating on G+.
Pic:the Google Drive Interface

The Google Drive is expected to be announced formally at the Google I/O Conference scheduled to take place from June 27-29 later this year. As of now, there is no detail whether this service will be desktop exclusive feature or will support the Android smartphones through a separate native App as well.We Hope our Android Users will be able to get an app for drive in the market "fingers crossed".

Autonome Concept for Smart Phone Charging

Some Android Phones are dubbed as "Battery Monster's" or "Battery Killers" due to excessive hogging of battery done by android devices.Android LTE devices or Android games, video playback  always results in poor battery life.and yes have your WI-FI and GPS on for 2-3 hours, then your battery life is liked fast paced clock clicking the countdown.

This  concept design from Francois Rybarczyk deals with the hassle of carrying a charger around with you, especially when we don’t always carry around purses or bags.hard  to remember the travel charger.

It’s called the Autonome and the concept shows us an extended battery that comes with it’s own built-in fold out plug that eliminates the need to carry  USB charger and cable.

The module acts as a bonus battery, in addition to the standard that stays inside the device. Although the concept unrealistically hopes for a quick 30 second charge on the detachable battery module, a more realistic expectation would be of around 30-minutes using fast charge technology coming soon in Sony Device. Need a bit more juice? Plug in the module and rely on the standard battery for a few minutes.

Not using your device and want even more of a charge? Plug your phone into the wall where you can charge both the standard battery, and bonus module.

I guess for now, manufacturers  should focus on making their devices thinner so that bigger, not just for looks — but so that 3,000mAh batteries could still fit into them, while keeping a relatively slim profile. Even still, concepts like the Autonome with it’s all-in-one solution could prove to be helpful for those days when you need to charge. your phones.

HTC Orion 4G Concept

HTC Orion 4G Concept Phone

HTC Orion 4G concept, a high end smartphone, with an interesting design. As we can see, the phone has Verizon branding, the processor is power packed with quad cores , it features a 1080p display and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Front and Side View

The interface and icons look very playful, to be honest and somehow remind us of webOS, believe it or not. HTC Orion 4G adopts a wrap-around design and uses a 4.5 inch 16:9 screen with the above mentioned resolution.

It runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0 on top of a 2 GHz quad core processor. There’s also a 12 megapixel camera on board of this HTC concept, with 1080p video capture, plus a 720p 5MP camera, NFC, 2GB of RAM and a 2000 mAh battery.

The Orion 4G uses a magnetic charging port and it’s available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions.

This looks like a solid Samsung Galaxy S III rival, certainly more solid than the HTC Sensation was against the Galaxy S II.

The design is kind of simple for HTC, that sometimes likes to complicate things and include a protective shell as a case, one that houses the components, but can be detached, like on the HTC Sensation XE and original Sensation.

The Verizon Galaxy Nexus (LTE model) has received a little over the air update to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich this weekend. The update is not official,
we have all the details, download links, and changes that we’ve seen thus far.
Check it out below.

As a small reminder this is for the Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy Nexus only for the moment and will not work for the GSM international version. We were all hoping for Android 4.0.3 but this actually brings us to Android 4.0.4 instead. The build is IMM30B and brings with it plenty of changes, although the update is only 29.2 MB in size.

At the very least they’ve updated the bootloader and the all important radios. This means they’ve made some changes and tweaks to the radio in the device. We are seeing much better service, especially with 4G LTE out of the gate.

Now lets get to the good stuff. For those that don’t want to wait for the update to start rolling out to all users, you can get it now and give it a go. All the details are provided in the XDA links below

Verizon Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0.4 — Download link

ClockWorkMod Instructions:

*Update will break root, but can easily be restored

– Download file from the link above
– Be running stock Android 4.0.2 (ICL53F) (stock radios and all)
– Rename to update.zip if you’d like (not needed for CWM)
– Reboot into CWM Recovery
– Choose “install zip from SD card”
– Find file, flash, reboot, enjoy that 4.0.4 flavored Ice Cream Sandwich

You can root using the original methods— try OTA RootKeeper from the Android Market. It backs up the root, and restores after the OTA. (Worked perfect here)

For those using stock recovery the standard update.zip process did not work, if you have better luck feel free to share the details in the comments below. Enjoy!
